These last days
I guess it has to be the same way whereever you go. You get there and you feel you have all the time in the world at your disposal. A week or two before you leave you realize there is still all those undone things and you may have to plan a bit to get them all done. Then suddenly there’s only a few days left and new activities just keep appearing out of nowhere, it seems. Well, that Audio project I spent most of my last weekend with didn’t exactly appear out of nowhere, the deadline just happened to be on Tuesday and, well, I actually enjoyed working on it! And after all, one day was just great for Plitvice.
I actually like those situations when you have just a limited number of hours available and a number of activities to choose from. So how did I spend my last days?
On Wednesday I was invited to Ognjen’s home. Ognjen, that’s my boss: He has the most beautiful wife and is a great person to talk to. No more details on the blog, sorry - this is one of the guidelines I have set up for myself: Do not give any personal details about people who might read this or were others might identify them here. Those things are reserved for real conversations or private letters, not the internet. I would not like someone to write about his time with me either.
It was almost one o’clock and thus Emilio’s birthday had passed already - or should we use Mexican time zone instead? - that I decided to finally go congratulate him since we had missed each other all day. Not the only time a cell phone would have come in handy. I found them at Boom Boom Room, a dance club not quite as bad as the name suggests but nothing special either. Well-known music and beautiful girls in a bar-like environment with tables and benches but enough space for dancing, too. And apparently the most favorite place with IAESTE students. I prefer the Irish pub, though. And you notice the small town athmosphere when they turn on the lights at two - even though the place is still full with people. Weird.
Thursday, last workday. Another morning coffee, and another morning pool game, too
And we were not the only ones! So I finish up the EL:blog - it now chooses the names of the participating universities randomly, try to reload! - and all the other small things.
Of course I did not manage to do any of the shopping I planned for, not to talk of cycling up some hills again. All I manage is to go around town and kastel a little more, seeing some great photo opportunities but Emilio still has the camera. Get home at 6, start packing, don’t finish, last morning coffee finally, go back, finish packing, get the bike ready for Dragana, go back to town, forget passport, then finally go to town, get rich (by withdrawing the remaining money from my account which was quite a bit), last walk, last Zeljanica, last cheese and some more souvenirs, and it’s time to walk back already.
More about my trip back home later, it was interesting enough for another article!

Hi, Torsten.
I can easily understand how you’ve felt during the last week.
I also felt like you.
When I see many photos of Banjaluka, I miss you and all !!
Now are you back to your university?
I hope you had a great time in BL.
Please renew the blog sometimes.
I’ll visit here again!!
